CLASS OF 2027 Announcements

 Please Order Cap/Gown/Tassel Medallions ASAP from Jostens.com

  • Below you will find detailed instructions on how to order the MOST AFFORDABLE cap/gown/tassel/medallion package.  You do not need to order anything else in order to walk in graduation. 
  • Also, you do not need to order an extra tassel or medallion.  This package comes with everything you need and nothing extra.  The current price is about $61.

  • Once on the website, please search and select West Port High School, Ocala, FL.
  • On the next page, scroll down and select Graduation-Shop
  • On the next page, scroll down to the bottom and select Shop All Graduation Products
  • On the next page, scroll all the way to the bottom...look on the left hand side of the screen  and select Cap/Gown/Tassel/Medallion Unit under the Cap & Gown heading.

  • Once you have selected the Cap/Gown/Tassel/Medallion Unit, you will follow the prompts to proceed to the checkout.  The website will ask you if you want to add anything to your order.  YOU DO NOT NEED TO ADD ANYTHING, THIS UNIT COMES WITH EVERYTHING YOU NEED.
  

  • Baccalaureate Ceremony (optional): TBD 

    • Seniors must report to the West Port Performing Arts Center (PAC) at TBD
    • Seniors wear gowns only over formal dress attire (*refer to dress code outlined below*)
    • No Caps
    • Follow MCPS Dress Code
    • Please note that the optional Baccalaureate Ceremony described below is an excellent alternative for handicapped family and friends to celebrate their graduates in a less crowded and climate controlled environment.

  • Graduation Practice at WEC:  Friday, May 21, 2027

    • Seniors must report for Grad Practice:  TBD
    • Grad Practice is mandatory if you want to participate in the graduation ceremony.
    • No Cap/Gowns...just regular school clothes
    • Follow MCPS Dress Code

  • Graduation Ceremony at WEC:  Saturday, May 22, 2027--8AM-11AM

    • Seniors must report at 5:45 AM
    • Processional begins 7:30 AM
    • Seniors are seated and opening remarks begin promptly at 8 AM
    • Formal attire
    • Follow MCPS Dress Code
    • PLEASE DO NOT BRING BAGS 
    • YOU MAY BRING CAR KEYS AND CELL PHONE ONLY

Dress Code and Regalia Policies:

  • Students must wear their caps and gowns while adhering to the Marion County Public Schools dress code.  All cap/gown regalia must be approved by the West Port High School Administration before being worn in the Class of 2027 Graduation Ceremony. 

  • Additionally dress pants and dress shirt with tie, a dress or skirt and blouse or pantsuit are outfits that are recommended. We recommend that students do not wear high heels, as there will be a lot of walking.  No jeans, denim, shorts, flip-flops, slides, slippers, shower shoes, or athletic shoes will be allowed, as this is a formal occasion. 

  • Students may only wear academically earned stoles and honor cords that have been verified, approved, and provided by West Port High School.  The academically earned stoles/cords approved for the Class of 2027 are:  West Port Latin Honors Cords/Stole, Career/Technical/JROTC and Magnet Program Completion Honor Cords, Phi Theta Kappa Stole, College of Central Florida Stole (AA Graduates), and AP Capstone Stole. 
  • Minimum requirement to wear any of the academically earned honor stoles/cords:  4-year, cumulative, weighted grade point average of 3.00.

  • Caps may not be decorated. 

  • All other items must be left inside the WEC Expo Center.  Thank you for your assistance in keeping reverence of academic achievement the focal point of our graduation ceremony.
